Well that was fun. Couldn’t outgrind seraphon on objectives in their home territory, but then managed to work through Slaves to Darkness and an OBR mirror to go 2-1 for the day. Reaffirmed my love of playing OBR!

A Really Useful Box on the seat of a Scotrail train containing Ossiarch Bonereapers miniatures for Age of Sigmar
Tournament time again! Cheeky wee one-dayer in Stirling with the new Bonereapers #Ageofsigmar #OBR
It’s not a dadbod; I prefer to think of it as a father figure
The central column from an Age of Sigmar Ossiarch Bonereapers’ Bone Tithe Nexus painted in dark red and black with lighting effects to give it glowing red eyes
Faction terrain mood lighting continues apace just in time for the new battletome dropping!
Harlequin Lumineth Riverblades!
A Lumineth Riverblades model for Age of Sigmar painted in orange and black with a harlequin checkerboard pattern in shades of grey on one leg
Challenge accepted… still WIP but quite happy with the effect!
Debating doing a harlequin style pattern on my Lumineth Riverblades. You know, because all the trim isn’t quite fiddly enough already
I would like to note that I have some painted Lumineth Realmlords already. So when I happen to be working on the Light of Eltharion next on my painting table it isn’t filthy meta chasing of a broken book. Honest.
And with that unit of Rockgut Troggoths finished, I am now all done and ready for this weekend’s tournament bar some mushrooms on the Loonshrine and some grass tufts
So Lumineth Realmlords now have spells named:
Beam of Hysh
Beacon of Hysh
Beacons of Protection
Protection of Hysh
Good to see the Khorne naming method is alive and well at GW!
A water pot filled with glowing green liquid
Always entertaining shining a UV light on the pot of painting water after a session with fluorescents
Is a new Tzeentch Flamer sculpt too much to ask for?
As someone who plays a lot of flying things and monsters in AOS I’ve never been a huge fan of Obscuring, esp with the Place of Power ability. I think because it feels unbalanced in its permanence- expanding the POP ability to give a “remove Obscuring” option (same criteria) would be a welcome change
Always exciting when you manage to spill a full pot of Nuln Oil all over yourself at 11pm…
Just stumbled upon the glorious madness that is Turnip28. Must investigate this in more detail!
Gotta say, I’m a big fan of the new OBR reveals and equally intrigued by the Tzeentch stuff. I could see this being an expensive few months for my hobby…!
A painted Gloomspite Gitz Snarlboss on War-wheela
Rear view of the Snarlboss, showing the cheeky wee grot with a burning torch larger than he is!
Also managed to get this friendly fellow and his ride finished up for my first proper mini painted in 2026.
Side note- see that flagpole? FOUR TIMES that snapped in the course of painting this mini. So it’s now almost more pins than plastic…
Also- I do really enjoy painting green fire!
Three painted shields from the Immortis Guard kit
Nice quick task to paint up a few spare shields to act as tokens for Intercept and Recover as a battle tactic for my OBR tonight!
Third attempt at painting KO. Got put off by all the gribbly wee details the first two times so trying to keep it simple now. Will see how we go!
End-on photo of the strip of wood I fasten minis to for priming. Plus the layers of tape which have built up over time to be thicker than the original bit of wood itself!
A Grundstok Thunderer model attached to its base with a 1mm gap beneath its feet due to the use of a spacer
Today’s hobby hack- buy a thin plastic I-beam for dioramas (mine was about 50p from my FLGS) and slice it up into spacers for under miniature feet. Means you can position them and get a good connection with plastic cement but don’t end up with them looking sunk into whatever basing material you use!
So much indecision for this upcoming tournament it’s ridiculous. Do I try the post-nerf Gitmob list? OBR recursion? I wasn’t happy with my performance with IDK at my last tournament- do I run them out again and try to do them more justice? Think some play testing on TTS is probably in order!
Good news! Woke up this morning with an idea for a third list for the upcoming tournament (as in, a third faction and everything) and think this one’s a winner. And only have to paint 11 infantry models for it!
Of course, saying that, I also quite fancy another list. Which would involve painting a different dozen cavalry, 11 infantry, a monster, and some faction terrain. But at least everything is built and primed. Hmmmm.
Okay. So. Tournament in a month. List I think I’ve ended on requires painting of 4.5 chariots (4 of which were only ordered today), a catapult, and half a dozen cavalry models between now and then. Optimistic, but secure in the knowledge I have an alternative to fall back on if needed!
Currently amazed how many people apparently think snowing is appropriate weather for washing their cars
Planning my 2026 hobby aspirations. Currently thinking I’d like to get all my remaining #Gitz (about 50 models plus some basing and squig herd) completed, and will probably chuck in my remaining #Tzeentch (~40 models) to mix things up and avoid boredom. Plus some other stuff as the mood takes me!
Calling it a year at that for hobby painting with 136 completed models. Final breakdown:
41 Tzeentch
30 Gitz
23 Blood Bowl
18 Warmaster
12 Manifestations
9 Lumineth
3 Idoneth
#AOS #BloodBowl #Warmaster #miniaturepainting
I have a sudden desire to paint an aelf army for #AOS in shades of green. Probably Lumineth, so that I could do Teclis in red and model a beard on him. Could kitbash Trugg’s antlers onto Celennar and give him a shiny red nose to complete the look!
Reminding myself that there are still lots of fun tricks in the army, but the Gitmob list I’ve been painting up over the last month or so doesn’t feel quite as exciting any more post battlescroll… think I need to get it on the table still to push through and focus on what it does have
