"We were larping in the park" the teen said to the press, "and in the other party this noob of a druid casts Call Lightning in an ACTUAL THUNDERSTORM". Wizards of the Coast has released no statement at the time of publication.

My key takeaways?
- Don't sacrifice sleep, i need the energy
- Purposefully improve velocity: be my own producer
- Work out and increase my metabolism maybe?
- Stop pulling every single thread, focus on what's more important!!
- Perfectionism is the enemy

Last night was the last straw that broke *my* back. I had to finish a game studies paper, one that I've been working on for a while now. It's not even a boring subject! But I just couldn't. 11pm suddenly turned into 4am and I had made almost no progress. I had had it. I surrendered.

During this last grad school month I sacrificed leisure, quality time with my wife and puppy, I pushed back other responsibilities, requested extensions for almost every class and had one too many nights of little to no sleep.

My ADHD made me sluggish and now that I'm diagnosed and in treatment, i can finally work for hours straight. The thing is I continue to work at the same pace as before. Even worse, as I add more hours to my workload, I get more tired, which means slower.

With the barely enough energy to power my last active braincell, my conclusion for this semester is yet again that i need to work faster. My partner has always commented on my velocity, and she is right.

The fun part was that the surviving rogue managed to recover some remains and my wood elf was reincarnated into an orc.

During my first campaign (D&D 3.5) we got to a point in which we had to convince a dragon to stop pillaging the local towns. We were wondering if we should kill it instead. I, as a player, told my team mates that the DM wouldn't put a dragon there if we couldn't defeat it. Only 2 barely survived.

Today's May the Fourth I'll be merely THINKING about building this set haha. Maybe after I finish my paper and my scholarship application, and my procedural generation final, and my TRPG final 🫠🫠🫠

 - Don’t deny interculturality, but be aware of it
 - Use conventions to your advantage, make them yours
 - Bring your own culture and history to the table
 - Work towards a new definition of the genre (CHRPG?)

Looking at the Chilean indie game Rangers in the South, overtly committed to cultural representation — but ALSO importing a huge amount of neocolonial rhetoric in eurocentric genre tropes & mechanics from JRPG/WRPG, “evil native orcs” vs knights in armor, humans colonizing from the north, etc.

Today I played Mythology by @sashasienna.bsky.social and @jonnysims.bsky.social and it was intense! We used the Vertigo deck by Dave McKean and it was definitely sth special <3 "The Origin of Nightmares" told the tale of a Fragile but Lucky dancer, and a Naive Hedonistic wanderer who saved dreams :)
