It makes me feel the same things as with Cookie Clicker: I love the weird world, all the wild suprises, building the infractructure and seeing all the numbers go up, but I should probably not be doing this.
Dig Dig Dino! is for me the killer app of the Playdate console - until I played it, I wasn't sure buying the gadget was a good choice. Perfect game for short burts of play time, but also can (and does) suck you in with a fun gameplay loop for longer sessions.
It was once addressed by @reckless.bsky.social on the Decoder meta-episode ("Answering your biggest Decoder question", around 9:50):
