How can the EU defend its economic security in a geo-economic world? Instruments like the #Anti-Coercion-Instrument and the #InvestmentScreeningFramework may provide answers, but we know little about their institutional consequences: Is the EU changing its institutional balance?

This article examines whether a new institutional balance is emerging in the field of EU economic security policies between Commission, Council and European Parliament. We look at the examples of the EU anti-coercion instrument and the EU investment screening framework.
