For much of my life I was not amused by crudity, and only in maturity have I come to see in it a roguish charm. Laughing not at the fact of the joke, but finding joy in witnessing evidence of the impulse to make it.

It is not the smirk of a schoolboy amused by a rude word. It is a self aware mirth, a wry chuckle at our shared humanity, a reflection on that facet of our condition which has remained constant through eons: reproductive organs are funny.

A sign for a pub called THE COUNTY, but with conspicuously missing O, U, and Y letters. One may speculate about the order and circumstances of the removal of those letters.

I smirk to myself every time I pass THE COUNTY, a pub whose sign tells the story of at least one caper.

Ranting into my drafts folder again.

My work this morning involved cache invalidation, an off by one error, and naming things, so I've completed computers now.

I think there is value in the friction of doing detailed work.

Five years ago I got a fumbling rendition of a Ted Greene arrangement under my fingers for Christmas. I’ve since had children, and this has not improved my musicianship. Man, I gotta get back to it.
