Comic page from my series Modern Carapace. In the light of morning, a rusted highway sign is covered in birds. Each panel is the same angle. In the third panel the birds fly off. In the fourth, a shadow appears on the sign. In the fifth, the mecha Tarantula Hawk 2 crashes through the sign, leaving twisted metal behind. In the last few panels, the birds return to perch on what’s left of the sign.

A page gag I’ve had in mind for a long time that I finally found a place for in the next short Modern Carapace story. Inspired by seeing pigeons on the highway on my way to work in the morning.
