I also don’t think this was as much of an ass kicking. USWNT couldn’t solve the tight defensive lines or capitalize on their opponents mistakes but the opportunities exist and they’ll learn from it

Final thoughts:
I don’t know how much 1v1 duels are needed for their evolution but it doesn’t work for me without the clinical ball progression from Japan
