Mechanosensor-mediated Hsp70 phosphorylation orchestrates the landscape of the heat shock response - Nature Communications Cells must sense heat quickly to protect their proteins and membranes. Here, the authors show that membrane stretch detected by the membrane sensor Mid2 promotes rapid phosphorylation of the Hsp70 cha...

This study, led by Megan Mitchem & Ashley Choi at the Truman Lab (@trumanlab.bsky.social), provides a resource for dissecting the functional landscape of Cdc37 post-translational regulation & highlights new regulatory sites w/potential relevance to chaperone-kinase network dysregulation in disease.

Dissecting the Cdc37 Co-chaperone Code: Functional Roles in Chaperone-Mediated Stress Adaptation Cdc37 is a kinase-specific co-chaperone that scaffolds protein kinase clients to the Hsp90 chaperone system. Although phosphorylation at residues S14 and S17 is known to regulate Cdc37 function, the b...

@ronbeavis.bsky.social Hi Ron, I teach a graduate course on cell signaling and each year do a couple of classes on PTMs. I love showing the students how to use the gpmdb for their studies but can’t access it anymore from the US. Do you offer paid access/educational discount for those in the US?

A really important skill for trainees to learn is to be a “closer” of a project-that is to take it over the finish line for publication. This means doing the experiments, getting the figures/text ready for submission and being prepared to do review corrections 😀

On adaptation to a mesophilic environment and the chaperone network in Archaea

Hopla il est là et je ferais une petite explication de ce que j'ai cherché à comprendre dedans. Mais ça parle de chaperonnes et d'archées et de relations entre évolution et HSP70.
