Al Jazeera Iran correspondent live in Tehran:

"...the doors are neither closed nor open..."

Funny (in a sober context), and pretty much accurate! Certainly tracks with the many Schrödinger's Strait jokes I've seen.

Democrats should make the confirmation hearing on the nominee to be U.S. Attorney General all about the Epstein files.

If you won’t commit to release the files without redactions and prosecute the Epstein class, then you’re obstructing justice, not enforcing it.

"Your Account is Suspended" Message on X

The CEO of Palantir posted a fascist manifesto on X.

I pointed out that it was fascist—which resulted in a permanent suspension from X (my second time!).

So, when you hear the tweeters complaining that BlueSky is intolerant, remember why many of us came here in the first place.

A step away from asking the Russians to investigate their own influence operations in the US. The guiding principle of Trump policy is that Russian ops are good because they support him personally. The guiding principle of Russian policy is that Trump is good because he wrecks the US & helps Russia.

Lessons From Hungary Autocracy isn't inevitable, but we can't rest on our laurels

A few takeaways from Hungary’s deposing of Viktor Orban. Autocracy isn’t inevitable. Fund investigative journalism. Russia isn’t done with its fuckery. And more. open.substack.com/pub/alexzfin...

What makes this attack (these attacks?) interesting is that unlike most of the garbage I've seen over the past two years, these IPs are United States residential customers. Eeek...

At least some of the main points from www.plainsite.org/realitycheck.... Fake accounts are hardly a novel concept, AI or otherwise. Silicon Valley runs on them.

The New York Times once again fails to report accurately on fake accounts by several orders of magnitude. And it's not like I haven't told them.

Pancreatic cancer mRNA vaccine shows lasting results in an early trial Scientists caution that more research is needed, but nearly all of the patients who responded to the personalized vaccine are still alive six years later.

We have an apparent cure for most people with pancreatic cancer—a profoundly swift, deadly cancer—and the position of the U.S. government is that it should be banned. This is real fall-of-empire stuff.

Editor’s Note | We Unknowingly Published an AI Column. The editorial team at the Mississippi Free Press discovered we published a column written by a fake author using artificial intelligence.

The Mississippi Free Press got inundated with a raft of AI-generated opinion pieces—which we pay writers for—from people who don't exist pretending to be Mississippians.

One of those columns made it to publication before we caught the scam.

Kevin Edwards, editor for our Voices section, explains:

Does it? It charges $40 for a PDF. And in Silicon Valley, shareholders means the big guys (VCs).

That 500K trade at exactly 4:00:00 P.M. Eastern Time yesterday kind of sticks out like a sore thumb. Today's trade happened at 5:16:00 P.M. after hours, for 529,214 shares in one block, according to a user on Twitter. So...good chance those are each 10% of the offering from "time to time."

They have no incentive to tell you that they've done it. They want to issue all 5 million shares at as high a price as possible. That means keeping quiet until they are all issued—authorization is to sell from "time to time" on different days—and then...surprise! www.plainsite.org/markets/avis...

If I had to guess, I would say that $CAR has now issued 1 million shares of the 5 million the Board of Directors authorized on March 17, 2026, and the market hasn't figured that out yet.
