As Exams are approaching, Dangerlings is being kind of a pain to optimize (I'm basically rewritting Fauxton3D to make it work) and I still wanna have time to take part in the Fireside Jam.
So, that's all folks, for the next few weeks.
Wait wtf, this looks so cool. The characters look like 2D paper while still being 3D. That's awesome. And that moveset feels amazing, even on video

But Summarizing, I made the player in constant inclination, so it looks like a conventional top down game even when looking, you know... top down. And made the gaps in the Sprite Stacking less noticeable. The optimazation tho...

Shoutout to Fauxton3D by Gizmo199 and @gamemaker.io's 2D to 3D tutorial. I've been frankstein-ing my way to a 3D camera and, again, I still don't fully understand it, but i was able to achieve the initial effect I was looking for.

Genuinely, a Chess 2 would be like, 12x12 board, with diferent classes of pawns and new pieces, like the bandit, or the fool.
I have made some more progress on the boss, I have a dash attack and a projectile attack which both deal damage. The boss can also take damage from it's head and die.
Let me know any thoughts you have on the progress :)

Final Looploop gamedev update
Looploop is nearly done. I've just been mushing the last few minor bugs and tweaks, there really isnt much to report on.
I now have key art thanks to Frey426, it turned out super good!
5 days until Looploop its genuinely baffling to think about actually being done :D
Have been working a lot more on the game. I added sliding, Super Jumping, Super Sliding, Shooting, basic enemy types and yesterday I added these collectable that don't do anything, yet.

I've done some optimisation for my game world, to make it easier on my laptop during development π
I've done some object pooling on the tiles, so that I'm rarely ever loading new ones, and I made it so chunks can be loaded in segments, so they don't render when not needed

And now I enter PHASE 2 of development. Which includes coding specifics (like enemies, skills, items and upgrades) And overhauling visuals, effects and game juice in general.
