Jacqui and Joshua showing us why choice and control is central to adult social care and how we build lives, not services.
Care can’t wait is our campaign which tells stories about people to show why adult social care should be prioritized, have reform, and see overall investment increase.
New #CareCantWait story!
Jacqui cares for her son Joshua, who has Down syndrome & autism, and now also needs support herself.
Getting the right support hasn't been easy, but having choice & control over their care has made all the difference.

We launched Care Can’t wait at #SpringSeminar25 today. Play your part - help tell the amazing story of social care.
So pleased to support this event as @adass.bsky.social president. We all agree there is more we can do to support our young people to grow up and think about how policy and practice wraps around this, rather than seeing transitions as a passing on event. Excited to see the change we build today!
Equipment matters because people matter. Thanks to Medequip I'm part of what will hopefully be a great @local.gov.uk Partners in Care & Health event today. 🧵1/
"When we're just focusing on getting people home from hospital, we're not doing that piece of work to enable them not to go there in the first place," @mel-williams.bsky.social told @skynewss.bsky.social.

First, the delayed reform is not about building capacity.
Second, were the data to show (which it doesn’t) that 1/7 people were waiting for social care, it is unlikely to simply be a wait for capacity.
We do need to work better together to support people to recover based on partnership.
Our #hospitaltohome policy event took place in Westminster yesterday - we heard how other countries provide health and social care differently, and debated what needs to happen now to improve care in England.
