A photo of a leg (sporting blue jeans and a black sock) outstretched in a colorful hammock. Streaks of blue, purple, and red speckle the fabric in triangles and stripes of color. Beyond this and the tree it is latched to is a small field of grass with a few trees, and just beyond, a beautiful blue-gray lake. Hills are visible on the other side, with a cloudy blue sky above.
Remember, it's never a bad time to take a moment for yourself. Breathe, smell the air, taste the moment.
Everything is going to be okay if you let it.
Remember, it's best to waterproof your tents before you go out camping. Pick a dry sunny day and do them while they're still fresh and clean. Account for drying time.
Unless you spring for a super nice tent, it's probably not water resistant and the rain fly is crap.
A woman in a gray military top, her face is obscured by a respirator and the image of a border Collie overlaid. She's holding a can of yellow Scotchgard, behind her is a wet looking red tent. There's a few camping supplies scattered in the background of the image.
Waterproofed both tents as of this morning!
Remember to be mindful of your fires, unattended fires or even buried embers can still start fires. I always recommend extinguishing your fires with water when you're done with them so there's minimal risk of reignition.
A medium campfire of small branches burning in a metal fire ring.
Campfire to help keep the cold at bay. There's a lot of fallen trees and branches around from storms so I have a pretty steady supply of wood to burn for free.
A small fire with a glowing red ember bed. This fire is in a camping ring, as evidenced by the steel grill sitting in the foreground.
Tonight was quiet. I'm on my own now, so I had a small fire to try to dry out my wet beans and just sit with it.
A photo of a campsite with lit tiki torches, a few tents, a car, a picnic table, and an overall cozy vibe.
THE BEACONS ARE LIT, GONDOR CALLS FOR AID!
A nighttime photo of two tents with a chair in between them and a lit torch in the foreground. It is dark and overexposed, so the smaller details, like the person in the tent on the right and the camo poncho on the chair in the middle, are harder to make out.
Tiki torches are blinding when it's dark enough to see the milky way.
Happy Birthday to @tracewolf.bsky.social lurking in the tent like a cryptid. Creatura.
A pan of corned beef hash grilling on a portable coleman stove. There are two tents in the background, one is red, one is teal.
Corned beef hash! Camping dog-food, if you will :)
A small fire in a circular metal pit. There's small twigs drying on the grilling grate hanging outwards over the edge of the pit.
Free wood courtesy of a recent storm.
A photo of a campsite with a picnic table (this table is sporting supplies like water bottles and a small portable stove), a few lit tiki torches (likely for mosquito repellent), gwo red camping chairs, and a teal two-person tent. It is shortly before dusk and the blue sky is showing signs of darkening above the horizon.
By Grabthar's Hammer, what a campsite.
