Time for everyone's favorite game: Is It Allergies Or Am I Actually Getting Sick?
YES. This is the first time I can remember being hit this hard. I've been exhausted since Sunday. 😴
After a week of barely having time to write, I got to dig into my current WIP tonight and it feels SO good.
We gotta hit this stretch goal so I can draw Parachuting Axolotls
No loot drops when you kill me. Like an aboleth, my spirit returns to the Elemental Plane of Bibliophiles and I reconstitute my body to come after you again with More Book Recommendations.
I just backed Axolotl with a Gun: An Arcade-Style Roleplaying Game on @kickstarter.com. Go check it out! Support indie ttrpgs!

Congrats on your novella draft. ;)
Honestly, same.
It's that time of year again, where we all try and figure out what to do with the void-like week between Christmas and New Years.
Ordered some Yule Cat cards for the upcoming holiday season. 🐱

Finished knitting a new pair of socks and feeling pretty groovy about how they turned out.
It totally is!!
Reskeet with a time you looked cool.
I once again collaborated with my very talented artist sister to write a brand new short story for #Drawtober. The completed story, plus her brilliant illustrations, is now up on my website.

Thank you for sharing! I'm glad you enjoyed it. 😊
My short story "Glass Slippers, Iron Shoes" came out today with Corvid Queen. This is for anyone who's ever tried to convince themselves they had fun at an objectively not-fun party.
and--idk quite how to articulate this--but the work of it is... critical to art-making. like you discover your intentions through the labor of expressing them. if I'd woken up at 17 with the technical ability to write a novel, i wouldn't have known what i was trying to say. the work IS the product.
Between writing big things For Publication, I spent the past couple weeks writing a little thing just for some friends in my D&D group, and I can't tell you how nice that has been. There's something delightful about writing a thing that no more than four people will ever see.
6 days after Soviet troops invaded Czechoslovakia in 1968, a Prague paper published these “10 Commandments”:
‘When a Soviet soldier comes to you, YOU:
1. Don’t know
2. Don’t care
3. Don’t tell
4. Don’t have
5. Don’t know how to
6. Don’t give
7. Can’t do
8. Don’t sell
9. Don’t show
10. Do nothing’
Feeling very called out by this post.
Let's GOOO! Help @uncannymagazine.bsky.social continue to publish amazing work for another year. Please go back the Kickstarter if you haven't already.
Ah, late July, when my summertime depression peaks because it is too hot and bright outside for a bog creature like myself.

Multi-colored knit shawl sitting out on a porch.
Finished up knitting a shawl this past weekend, and I must say, I'm quite proud of it.
I just backed Uncanny Magazine Year 12: Fly Forever, Space Unicorns! on @kickstarter.com
@uncannymagazine.bsky.social continues to have some of the best speculative fiction out there. Help them get funded for another year and continue to support amazing writing and art!
Happy Summer Solstice! My short story, "A Different Kind of Worship," was published today by @hearthstories.bsky.social. This remains one of my favorite pieces that I've ever written, and I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
And we are live on KS - www.kickstarter.com/projects/526... - The “Mmeory” anthology is launched with a theme of memory manipulation - magic spells, cyborg memory edits, very unreliable narrators, time travel gone wrong. Help us bring this book to life. #sff #fantasy #book #ks #booksky
I am saving this for future reference - it's got some very useful data!
