It feels like the internet as a whole is becoming so bleak and there's little to no exit ramps. I worry about losing all the connections I've made here & it's difficult to make IRL connections outside of my family

How I feel about that, it's a bit mixed. On one hand, social media has become such a hellscape & I don't blame those wanting to step away
On the other, I feel for all the artists here who need it to show their work & make a living. Sure, sites like FA exist, but it's ultimately just a gallery site
I know people like @rude1.blacksky.team & others in @atmosphere.community are trying to provide a better service, but their good work will all be moot if Bluesky implodes
As for Mastodon, the non-tech-savvy folks will likely use IG/TT, go back to that hellsite, or stop using social media altogether

I swear, the Bluesky team's inability to control their personal grudges over petty shit & visible contempt for their own userbase will be this site's downfall and by extension, cripple the entire ATProtocol into irrelevancy
Just a few minutes ago or so, he did unfollow that blocklist, maybe from internal pushback? However, it seems like he's doubling down on blocking anti-gen AI folks, as well as trans & furry accounts, by blocking them manually

A bit of a tangent, but the reason why the Quiet Posters feed, one of the most-followed feeds on the site, isn't working is because the author, who's also Bluesky's tech advisor, follows a huge blocklist against those who hate AI
