the vetting system is clearly not designed to vet people, but instead to insure that the people the government don't want vetted, aren't.
wild that Starmer thew Robbins under a bus despite it not even being Robbins who made the decisions around the vetting process, Robbins was brought in after the vetting process was initiated and it took place largely independent of his office.

The PM says it is "unforgivable" that he was not informed about Mandelson failing vetting.
