Their Japanese neme is "姥鷸"(Oba-shigi)👵, I don't know why are they call so...
And,we call Dunlin(Calidris alpina) "浜鷸"(Hama-shigi)in Japanese.
It's wonderful that various birds are in this world,loved and called🥰
