This is the National War Memorial, titled "The Response", located in Confederation Square in the heart of downtown Ottawa, including the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the foreground, which was added to the memorial in 2000 to symbolize the sacrifices made by all Canadians who have died or may yet die for our country. The 22 bronze figures represent the eleven branches of the Canadian forces engaged in the First World War.
