Bill 2: - to open up for gas projects a vast area in Peru’s Amazon, home to many uncontacted peoples. Peru’s Indigenous organizations have branded these bills “an extermination campaign.”

Drilling for gas and oil and burning more carbon is not the sideshow, it's the cause of global heating. Wind & solar power, etc. don't reduce carbon emissions by themselves, not unless their use results in less carbon being burned. And climate targets pre-date the recent acceleration in warming.
