No expert, but the trousers look too tight whilst the jacket sleeves are too baggy.

I have a clematis to tie up and a couple of things to plant. After that I shall mostly be sitting outside in the pursuit of doing absolute FA.

Anyone know what this is? Large shrub, deciduous, big flowers in early summer. Smells gorgeous. My phone thinks it’s a viburnum

Photo of our very old wooden greenhouse

Not sure if we’ll get another year out of this greenhouse. Half the wood is rotted, it’s already been patched (we keep digging up glass from where the original roof evidently shattered many years ago), and the base is bent from old trees. Maybe I need to learn carpentry…

💯 Especially when it’s clotted with years of old roots. Just clearing this patch was a day’s work!

Relatable, I’m clearing out old beds and keep having to explain what’s so great about freshly dug patches of earth!

“No but see how much easier it is, you just have to push a button! Because of course you’ve filled all your invoices and expenses in a single database and they’re 100% complete at all times.”

I used to work for a company that made accounting software, and MTD was always viewed as a money-spinner, just like auto-enrolment was for the HR division.

One step closer to the US model…

Thankfully, my mother was quite the opposite: I took up gardening just to stop her going on at me to start it.

(She’s gradually growing ivy to cover the tarmac of her drive and has set up dead hedges for wildlife, to the quiet despair of my dad)

Can confirm it’s the same in the UK, at least from personal experience.
