You don't ever know people's full lives. Assume that people know their own energy, health, abilities, and responsibilities better than you do -- respect that ESPECIALLY when you are asking for something. Disrespecting my setting a boundary is exactly how to burn a bridge with me forever.
Saying you're not political is just saying that things as they are suit you fine and you see no reason to change them.
