Furry apparel at the thrift is a first. Only in Pittsburgh.

16. Ninja Gaiden (NES)

Always enjoyed the first game in the series, and there was a time I had a mind to pick it up, but frankly glad other people took it on way back when so I didn't have to. Game's tough.

I did name the Sex Panther boost, though, so have that contribution going for me.

15. Double Dragon (NES)

Another entry on my very early "maybe eventually" list. I did actually get pretty decent at the game, but the walls at the start of the last stage were enough to keep me away from serious attempts back in 06/07. I know they've been solved since, so maybe I revisit it.

14. Valis III (GEN)

This is one I did actually get into routing, and the stages that were fun to run were really fun to run (the back half of stage 2 and most of the final stage is quality speedgaming). They rest...not so much. A lot of hold right and boring autoscrollers. Put my efforts elsewhere.

13. Goldeneye 007 (N64)

I really enjoy the runs of this game, and the fact that new stuff keeps getting found to this day is pretty amazing. So why don't I run it? I don't want to associate with that community. If you know, you know. If you don't, it's probably better that way. Great game, though

12. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (PS1)

This is a game I always thought it'd be fun to be good at, and it's definitely a favorite of mine to watch other people run. One thing keeps me on the sidelines: shield dashing. Was never much of a masher, and only getting worse at it as I get older.

11. Wonder Boy (SMS)

There was a bit in the late 2010s where everybody was in on Hudson's Adventure Island, and I was there wondering why everyone was playing the inferior version of the game. This project just proved a little too big. It was All Dolls or nothing for me, and that was too much.

10. Clash At Demonhead (NES)

Another old favorite, and out of all the games I've posted so far it's the one that I think it's most realistic I might actually get too. It's a pretty janky game if I'm being honest, but it's that good jank. Might actually be a fun project...

9. Blaster Master (NES)

A chunk of my speedrun projects over the years were a bit of a revenge tour of games I couldn't beat as a kid. This was on that list, and while I did revisit it and earn the ending screen, felt like that was good enough. Never got to playing it with a timer.

Devil May Cry 3 (PS2)

Really enjoyed my time running the first game, and some of the speed strats in this one just feel really good to do, but it's a very, very execution heavy game at a high level. I enjoyed getting decent at it, but when it was time to get truly good I started looking elsewhere.

Music Question Friday: Ooh, Been A Bit Edition. For music I use a lot of auto generated playlists, and I've definitely noticed tracks it used to throw at me all the time sometimes just drop out of rotation to just suddenly reappear months/years later. Give me a track that resurfaced for you recently

7. Flying Warriors (NES)

Another one of those games I was super down for as a kid. Remember the old GamePro comic fondly and really enjoyed playing it then. I wanted a run to exist circa ~2010 and started looking into it and then realized just how janky it really is. Bounced off the idea quickly.

6. Teddy Boy (SMS)

One of the hu-card games for the SMS, and a childhood favorite of mine. I've toyed with the idea of a run of a loop of the 50 stages, but if I'm being honest I've yet to actually beat 1-50 in a sitting, let alone fast. Not sure I'll ever grind that out, let alone an actual run.

5. Switchball (XBLA)

This game has big "We have Marble Blast at home," energy, but it's some really good home cooking. There are lots of cool skips you can do in this one and a SS run would be very impressive. Some of those are hard though, and ultimately I was content to do most of them just once.

4. Ys III: Wanderers From Ys (SNES)

Has other ports, but this was the one I was looking at. Enjoyed it as a kid and love the series. I did like the idea of trying to get through it fast, but the combat is kinda miserable if you don't power level. The project ended pretty quick.

3. White Shadows (PC)

I don't see people talk about this game ever, and that's too bad because it's a great casual playthrough. Had a mind to try to go fast in it, but as a speedgame it suffers from lots of sections that are cutscenes where you can move. People should play it, they shouldn't run it

2. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (NES)

Fun fact, an early TAS of this game was what first got me looking at speedrunning back in like '06. Had a ton of hours in it as a kid and it was an early entry on the "I'll get to this eventually," list. Still haven't gotten to that eventually.

1. Phantasy Star (SMS)

Actually did a fair amount of routing and theory crafting for this game back in the day, but it became obvious pretty early the planning was going to be the fun part. Actual attempts? Lots of sleepy grinding with two RNG heavy bosses at the very end. Yeah...no thanks.

I have more of these than I do followers, so this should be easy.

And I'll go quick. Love the track Jane Says from Jane's Addiction, but for a couple decades always heard the one line as "He treats me like a rental," which I thought was clever. Later found out is was "rag doll" and that dropped it a notch for me. Still a great song. www.youtube.com/watch?v=i7Q_...

Music Question Friday: Wait, That's What They Said Edition. Give me a track where you misunderstood some of the lyrics for a stretch of time only to find out they were something different down the line. Did you like the real lyrics better, or did you prefer your initial head canon?

Well that was fun while it lasted.

Pink Triangle
Pink Triangle YouTube video by Weezer - Topic

For me, this came up on last week's road trip. There's not a lot of songs about a straight guy unknowingly falling for a lesbian and feeling sad and dumb about it when he figures it out. There is at least one though. www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2vW...

Music Question Friday: Don't See That Everyday Edition. Give me a track that you like where the lyrics tackle a subject you don't see often in other songs. Plenty of love songs out there, lots of "be mad at the establishment" tracks, but I'm looking for the weird one offs here.

Though if I was gonna be a try hard on karaoke night...

This is one I'd need to warm up for. The jumps from growly to screamy to singy are pretty rough, but I have this guy's range. Radio edit, album version he's way too eager to tell you all he's got is insane. www.youtube.com/watch?v=6fVE...

For me, it's best to do karaoke to songs that don't require much actual singing. This fits the bill and hits enough nostalgia sweet spots to get away with it. Do you wanna die? www.youtube.com/watch?v=EkwD...

Music Question Friday: Hey, Who Sings That? Edition: Give me a track that's your karaoke go to. Whether you're a karaoke night person or just someone who belts their favorites in the car or shower or whatever, that track where you just know you can just nail those lead vocals.

In that post game interview I heard a Jack Hughes I've never heard before. A Jack Hughes who just won the big one. This might be where we really see him turn it on.
