Last night was the Rochester Symphony Orchestra's (MI) final concert of the season and we presented our annual Young Artist competition winner, 13 year old Cameron Renshaw from the Grand Rapids area. He played fourth movement of the Elgar Cello Concerto. He was fantastic. Expressive, great

The solo artist was none other than our principal trombonist Ron Kischuk who is known to many Jazz musicians as a faculty member at Wayne State University and Managing & Artistic Director of the Toledo Jazz Festival. And he knocked it out of the park! This is the quality of musician who chooses...

We need to mention something because we don't want it to get lost in all the wonderful stuff. The 1st song of the Christmas Concert this year was something special in and of itself. The arrangement of "My Favorite Things" done by Terry Lower was commissioned and premiered by the RSO at this concert.

Finally thanks to all the musicians, concertmaster Lorraine Gunn, Director Bill Milicevic (pictured), personnel manager Susan Joul, Stage manager Mattheas Boelter, Librarian Nicole Shogren and the BOD members for herding the cats so to speak and bringing us another memorable Christmas Concert.

What a wonderful RSO Christmas Concert again this year. Pretty much standing room only. Our special guests were the Capital City Ringers who came from the Lansing MI area to perform alone and with the orchestra. Thanks to our patrons who donated generously to this year's USMC "Toys for Tots"...

Tim Michling is a member of the RSO as well as the Ann Arbor Symphony and the Flint Symphony Orchestra and an instructor of oboe at Oakland University.
He will again join the orchestra on Bagpipes for the March concert but will be adding the English horn, Penny whistle, Recorder and Bombarde.
