Definitely see that. And a couple of times "no freelancing!" where it adds its own unwanted flourishes to my austere set of concepts.
I don't want to oversell this. Its utility reflects my constant guidance to prioritize and choose and steer it. But it's like a colleague on call. Flesh and blood colleagues can be hard to come by.
This work jams high level abstractions x low level structures: memory consistency, causality, invariants, protocols, vs. msgs, interconnects, flow control, multiport RAMs, FPGA implementations, and real world sync code. I'm impressed Claude is capable/useful across the whole design space. Learning.
I am designing a novel, cheap, high core count cache coherent memory system. It find it helpful to elaborate & organize this work w/ Claude. I've had to teach many ideas, issues, priorities, and constraints up and down the stack but now it is something like an apt grad student and sounding board.
