Enbridge is a company with a nearly 80-year track record of destruction, on stolen land, with zero accountability. We have to stop treating capitalist, violent structures like Enbridge as "just another company".

We do.
And we all should.
Today Enbridge has a pipeline sitting on the bottom of the Great Lakes. It was built for 50 years of service and has now been running for more than 70. This pipeline is yet another horrific disaster just waiting to happen. And Enbridge STILL doesn't give a shit.
Remember in 2010 when the pressure-loss alarms went off at Enbridge's control center in Marshall, Michigan? Remember how Enbridge didn't give a shit and did not stop pumping for 17 hours? Remember how 1m+ gallons of tar sands bitumen spilled into the Kalamazoo River and 150 families never came home?
So we bird dogged Enbridge staff on the street at CERAWeek, while these companies were all in town to sit on panels, network over fossil-fuel-bought booze, and congratulate themselves on their poisonous bottom lines — while people die and our planet burns.
Enbridge has been destroying the planet since the '40s. In fact it is responsible for more than 1,000 spills between 1999 + 2013 alone. That = 7.4 million gallons of oil. And much of it on + near Anishinaabe lands — territories where Indigenous people have hunted, harvested wild rice, for centuries.

Right now, Hochul is trying to kill one of our country's last remaining climate strongholds (CLCPA) — and the consequences would be catastrophic.

NY Gov Kathy Hochul has been told by a judge to comply with a 2019 climate law and instead she is “on a path” to kill the climate law instead via the state budget.
We cannot let that happen.
All out in Albany, April 21.

New York's climate law is being killed in a budget deal. Like right now. This week. And Hochul thinks no one is paying attention.
But we are.

It is one of the last serious climate laws standing in the U.S. And Governor Hochul (😈) is trying to kill it in a budget deal, while she thinks no one is watching.
And this isn't the first time. Hochul's been trying to kill NY's climate future for years.
Pipelines.
Forests.
Congestion pricing.
The NY budget is being finalized as we speak. Hidden inside it: a provision that would gut the strongest climate law in the country.
The Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA) requires New York to get 70% of its electricity from renewables this decade and cut emissions 40% by 2030.
We need to make civil disobedience cool in this country
The absolute minimum we must demand from democratic candidates in the midterms is to be vociferously pro-climate which means being anti-war

What it actually was was a showcase of young conservative influencers speaking to old white people about how everything is fine, silly little youths, and how they have NOT left us with a planet on fire.
So we let them know that the youth disagrees with this assessment.
This panel we disrupted was called "Bringing Youth into the Climate Realism Fold", in order to recruit the next generation to carry water for fossil fuel billionaires.
Worth remembering: this is the same institute who helped Big Tobacco manufacture uncertainty about lung cancer in the 50s while 100 million people died. These grifters perfected the art of buying time for vile industry, while body counts rose. And now they're running the exact same grift on climate.
The Heartland Institute conservative think tank — famous for its defense of the tobacco industry and professional doubt merchants for decades — has topped itself by throwing a two-day convention for so-called "Climate Realism".
What it looks like when corporate Dems are more committed to gaslighting activists than holding war profiteers and fossil fuel interests accountable. What it looks like when they carry on with business-as-usual as the world burns.
Watch her dodge questions about the Boundary Waters. About AIPAC money. About the endless wars she won't stop.
This is what it looks like when politicians belong to capital, not to people and planet.
Two hours before Trump’s self-imposed deadline to destroy an entire civilization, as the doomsday clock ticked down and the world braced for potential nuclear war, MN Senator Amy Klobuchar was sipping no doubt incredible wine at a $500-minimum fundraiser for her Governor campaign.
