I’ve never been prouder to be a Minnesotan.

Remember: If we allow ourselves to fall into fatalism, or wallow in disappointment, or become resigned to what is rather than what should be, we will lose the long game.
The greatest enemy of positive social change is cynicism about what can be changed.

We have been cooking a lot and I have built up ten free boxes of #HelloFresh I can share. Here’s the link if you want one (I think it’s like a $120 value). 🥘 >> www.hellofresh.com/freebox/MzE2...
Nations have begun climate negotiations at the COP30 summit in Brazil. Studies show the world is not on track to avoid the most damaging impacts of climate change. n.pr/3XsXgy9
I really wish there was a PSA campaign to encourage people to not “spread” into another person’s space on airplanes. I am smaller but I paid for my *whole* space.
Once you turn 50, Thursday can be your Friday.

Emma and I are having a beautiful time in Aspen. 🌺🌼🌸🏔️
Gorgeous weekend in Hilton Head Island. Now back to work and a long day of court tomorrow. Tanned, mosquito-bitten, but relaxed. So thankful for South Carolina summers. ☀️
Yes!!!! 🔥
Today is my birthday! Help me celebrate by doing something nice for yourself - Like have a great meal or spend time in nature or shave your legs and change your sheets for great sleep! We often prioritize the needs of others. So I’m asking you to do one of these for *me*… bc it’s my birthday. 🥺🫶🏼
In the past 48 hours: left the beach, municipal budget hearing, visited w/ Emma and a dear friend, prosecuted 2 domestic violence trials and one sentencing hearing, had 3 bankruptcy hearings, read some poetry, and got some ice cream at McLeod Farm on the way back to the beach. 🍦
My morning walk was a feast!!
My dad would have been 89 today. What I wouldn’t give to have him in my life today, loving my children like he did so well, and helping me figure things out. He was brilliant and quiet and so good at figuring things out. People who knew him all tell me the same thing: “your daddy was a good man.”
For Father’s Day, we revisited the spots of some of our favorite parental memories. ♥️🎡
Tonight I taught two MasterClasses at Palmetto Girls State entitled Ethical Campaigning. I’ve been saving campaign mailers for decades and we always have fun going through them and talking about the nuances of messaging and what cuts through. These young women are so engaged and keep me on my toes!
Back in the lilies for two trips with friends yesterday and then a camping trip to see the amazing fireflies show at Congaree. Wow!
Earth will warm 1.5 degrees Celsius above preindustrial levels in just two years, new data shows. Irreversible tipping points — like the melting of Arctic ice sheets or the collapse of coral reefs — are closer at hand than previously believed.
Tent camping and kayaking with my BFFs since childhood is one of my favorite things. I love them like crazy! ⛺️🛶🌲🌸
Love her!!!!
I have once again built up 10 free HelloFresh boxes I can give away. Feel free to share the code so they don’t go to waste. It’s more than a $100 value. Just be sure to cancel if you don’t want to continue the service. We love it! Happy Cooking! www.hellofresh.com/freebox/MzE2...
I kayaked the #spiderlilies twice yesterday with friends and they are as beautiful as they get! If not for the rain forecast today, I’d go out again! 🌿
I cannot describe just how badly I don’t want this work week to start. Mitch and I have had an amazing weekend on the coast and now there’s so much work to do this week. Thankful for the beautiful sunrise to get us started at least. ☀️
South Carolina.
Brookgreen Gardens this morning. 🌸🌿
The lilies are blooming! 🌸
Love these ladies! What a great weekend we had!
I was so honored to bring the Mothers’ Day message this morning at United Bible Way church. I talked about Hannah, who waited for God to give her a child. Many of us are in a season of waiting: for direction, for peace, for joy, for healing. In the waiting, we are formed. 🌸
Yesterday I was a speaker at the tenth annual Day in Blue at the statehouse. My topic was “Life After Politics.” It’s a favorite subject and one that people in campaigns or elected office don’t think about often. The momentum of life changes drastically when the busyness is over.
