“To be better or not to be better at questioning, that is the question”
as Will Shakespeare’s less well-known teacher cousin Dave once put it.
Do you care about questioning??
Do you want to get better at questioning??
IF YES then you have just a few more days to sign up to our webinar next week. We'll be covering a bunch of easy and effective strategies, and would love to see you there!

What’s the point of geography?
I’ve been trying to answer this more precisely. Not in terms of content, but in terms of what geography allows pupils to do.
This was the focus of my @geographicalassoc.bsky.social conference talk.

Thanks Andrew - that's lovely to hear!
Now Latin can stand on its own duos pedes as a subject separate from Classics!
We've been using it with Latin for a few years now, using our own question banks. Retention of vocab has never been better.
Today Carousel added the below subjects to its subject list:
- Hair and Beauty 💅
- Latin 🏛️
It can't be said that we don't cover a wide range of course content.
“Kids are using AI to cheat on their homeworks”

Having a blast talking to fantastic teachers at #TTRConnect, with @benriceteach.bsky.social and @edtechris.bsky.social .
“Teaching is neuroscience in the dark… it is the ultimate act of faith.”
@funkypedagogy.bsky.social says we’re trying to affect structural change in a child’s brain, but we have no way to check that it is working.

If you have an apple and I have an apple and we exchange apples, then you and I will still each have one apple. But if you have an idea and I have an idea and we exchange these ideas, then each of us will have two ideas. (George Bernard Shaw)
Early candidate for quote of the day at #TTRConnect from Donal Hale: “Teaching is a team sport” channeling his inner George Bernard Shaw (h/t Shelley C. Cooper journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/... )
Mehmet now sharing with us the explicit instructions and training that went into setting up mini whiteboard routines with his classes.
Sweating the small stuff so that lesson time is maximised and he gets the data he needs from assessment!

Can AI give teachers meaningful feedback on their teaching?
This week's guest Raj Chande tries to convince me and @amymayforrester.bsky.social that maybe it can. My eyebrows were pretty raised, but it was a fascinating discussion.
