Just finished Project Hail Mary, really good, hope you can get a copy! For a more cyberpunk/action sci fi I enjoyed Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson, Neptune's Brood by Charles Stross is a sci fi/space opera that I liked too, technically the 2nd book in a series but it's own story separate from book 1
