I once worked on a story about Guinea worm disease and it is truly horrific and painful. It's nickname is "Little Dragon" because of the pain caused by the worm exiting a person's skin.

This has been an incredible effort by The Carter Center.

Yep. There’s a strong “the voter can do no wrong” mindset in American political media, but it’s impossible to fully discuss Trumpism without noting the moral failures of its supporters.

I’ll be voting third party but it’s true that either Kamala or Trump wins. I have a slight preference for a Trump victory. This last year of genocide amid near total public indifference has broken something in me. At least him being there would wake some people up to the horror

Started/going.

We keep telling you we told you so (before, during, after) but some of you appear to lack the ability to comprehend this.

This is my favorite climate change chart. Japanese monks, aristocrats, and emperors kept meticulous records of cherry blossom festivals for 1,200 years and accidentally built the world's longest climate dataset.

I sort of love how many articles these days are "Here's a counterintuitive take - what if conventional economics is applicable to the modern world?"

Louisiana's crawfish industry feels the pinch of limits on foreign workers Louisiana officials warn that the state's $300 million crawfish industry faces dire economic consequences because of a shortage of temporary seasonal workers via the H-2B visa program.

“People have built businesses around these workers and this year we can’t get them.... This industry would not exist without it because the American people don’t want to do the jobs we’re offering.”

being honest about what Republicans actually are upsets Republican sources, readers, event sponsors, and ownership, costing corporate media money

so you get this bizarre kayfabe where Republicans are given bottomless credibility they never had to earn
