I am incredibly angry that you voted to reopen the government without guaranteeing the ACA would be preserved. You know that Republicans will never let it go through, and the "promise" of a floor vote means nothing since they won't let it pass.
At the protest I attended yesterday, one of the speakers (who was also a state rep) told of her experiences in the People Power Movement in 1986 before she came to America in 1987 for school.

I finished my largest ever knitting project the other day. I did crochet a blanket once, but it took me about 10 years. This dress took me just a few months. I found it was great to work on while gaming with my friends because I could keep my hands busy while still taking part in the storytelling.
I have had several friends tell me they are following me here now, so I suppose I ought to start checking in and being more active here. Getting off of FB was good for me, but I do want to stay in touch with my friends.

That is what I have been paying for a few years here in New England. We have a standing weekly order with a farm in our little town for 2 dozen eggs at $4 each. I had to start buying eggs for the first time in years after my entire flock got picked off one by one by a fox and a raccoon.
Today I made a St. Birgittas cap that is entirely hand stitched. I started tracing the pattern around 6 am, and took these photos around 5 pm. Next up: interlaced herringbone embroidery on the center seam in red and white. I crossed the straps the wrong way in front, hence the twists.

Two sections of forest green wool are seamed together, with yellow yarn embroidered over the seam in herringbone stitch. Some of the red linen lining is visible at the edges along with basting stitches holding the layers together. Chalk lines run parallel to the seam for aligning the embroidery stitches.

For my first post I want to share pictures of the medieval coat I am making. It is made of melton wool for the shell and flat lined with linen, the decorative stitching is done with some thrifted cotton yarn I had on hand. This has been a fun learning experience.
