my therapist was THRILLED when i offhandedly mentioned that i was working on a fanfic a few weeks ago 😹
yes! the collapse was caught on video!
no, the tacoma-narrows bridge, which was nicknamed "galloping gertie" for the way it would violently sway in the wind. you'll never guess what happened to it
independently and without checking remembered the nickname of a bridge that collapsed in 1940
you yearn for the extinct original banana
enchanted and delighted by the san francisco cable car turnaround, 19th century innovation at its finest
running out of ways to erotically describe some middle-aged man's chest hair, as per usual. and yet i persevere,
english is the most busted language, it's insane that self-conscious is hyphenated but unselfconscious is all squished together like that
Image Description: There is a pencil sketch of Robby gently smiling and lying on his back, head resting on a pillow and wearing only briefs. He is brushing the knuckles of his right hand across Jacks left bicep. He is looking up at Jack who is siting next to him, looking down lovingly, and resting his arm along Robbys sternum.

They got me by the fucking throat. The whole show has me by the throat tbh #thepitt #rabbot
the pitt having no music makes me think about what dave k said about scoring the terror for the characters experience rather than for what the audience feels, namely, “i didn’t want to tell the audience what to feel, because they’re already feeling it”
“It’s a couple of things that work beautifully in concert. First: no music. Audiences are so sophisticated, but what they’re not accustomed to is not being told how to feel,” Wyle says. “You take all that out and it forces a level of engagement where you’re now looking for clues within the frame of the screen, which forces you to look up from your phone. And I think that is extremely engaging, especially to young viewers who aren’t accustomed to being asked to participate in a nonpassive way in the viewing experience.
“Second point, shooting it with almost exclusively 50-millimeter or 65-millimeter lenses, which is the most comparable to the human eye—and only shooting from the point of view of a human being that’s present in this space. There are no cameras on gurney wheels going in the hallway. There’s no cameras on the ceiling looking down from a God point of view. You are limited to the perspective of a participant. You can look away, but you can’t leave, and it becomes an endurance test for you to stay on your feet as long as we’re on our feet. Which [brings me to my] third point: real time. Real time has an aggregate sense of tension that you don’t get in any other form of storytelling. What happened before is happening now, and these two things are going to add up to the next thing. And if we throw more ingredients into this cooker and keep ratcheting it up, it’s going to pop.”
Wyle makes eye contact for his next point, delivering it with a Robby-esque matter-of-factness. “Fourth point: The election went the other way,” he says with a shrug. “We could have been a really good show with a lot of nice things to say in a perfectly normal Kamala Harris universe. And instead we became almost a beacon of hope and humanity in an alternative universe. But in the midst of that, fifth point—this is essentially competence porn. You’re watching really smart, dedicated people do what only they know how to do at a level that you don’t know how to do it, and you’re so fucking glad that they’re there doing it, and compartmentalizing their own stuff to put your broken pieces back together. You’re so reassured by knowing that there are people out there that laugh and joke and have the ability to lock in like that.”
this is fucking unreal stuff from Noah Wyle on the magic of The Pitt. www.gq.com/story/noah-w...
one thing cut from this Pitt finale feature was ken kirby (Dr Shen) between takes looking at a prosthetic newborn baby lying in a roasting pan and asking noah wyle what temp he should cook it at
wyle: 350! [pause, glance at me]
don’t print that [pause]
because it’s an old family recipe.
only one way to find out

abbot is on fire this episode
i am always saying this
forged in the fires of les mis (the brick and the tac on ffn in 2003), honed on the battlefields of kylux, polished in the terror mines
me every day 😌 i am my ideal audience
screenshot of instagram post by user clubhatosy showing pre-release episodic stills of abbot in the pitt s2e15. in the image jack and robby are facing one another, standing over robby’s motorcycle. robby’s arms are spread in the “who cares” attitude, while jack’s arms are crossed tightly over his chest and his facial expression is extremely skeptical
absolutely taken out by their body language in this image, robby is so defensive and jack is SO OVER IT, crossed arms, eyebrow all the way up
