We need more black characters in space. I have a M.S. in evolutionary biology: humanoid aliens are WAY more likely to have melanin than be blue or green. More so if the premise suggests shared heritage.
Crazy that people whitewash sci-fi when the point is for non-human aliens to foil human bigotry

X. Vintage cast brass double inkwells. Brass in general is hard to find in good quality, so true brass items are always a gem!
IX. Old postcards. Mail has been around for many millennia, and there are lots of letters out there. These make fun and meaningful gifts for folks who value friendship across lives/time/etc.
VIII. Leather jackets. Good leather molds to your body. Sometimes I try on leather jackets, just to feel the shape of where the previous owner lived. A cool way to be mindful of materials we use in what we wear, and clothes as memory.
VII. Uranium glass. I always bring a UV light. My dream is to one day find a bottle of Radithor.
VI. Unique, solid wood furniture: I’m talking humidors with hidden compartments, antique library morphing chairs, the indiscret sofas, or weird 1700s sex furniture from france. Unique pieces of craftsmanship made with specific people in mind.
V. Stained glass windowframes. Particular favor for floral stained glass and cathedral-style. Hand-painted or hand-blown is extra impressive.
IV. Star Trek figurines. Nothing makes me want to meet God faster than seeing something from 1987 in an antique store. It’s hilarious, and may be why I one day smoke cigarettes.
III. Antique Wedgwood jasperware in black, pink, crimson, jade, or antique blue. Bonus points if it’s the red-on-black Egyptian collection, or basalt.
II. Needlepoint bell pulls, with brass hardware
I. Antique Mohair Teddy Bears from before 1900.
Extremely niche things that I like from antique stores, a thread: (with increasing niche-ness)
Unfortunately, gul dukat is deeply attractive and this is episode 1 i sure hope i don’t regret this tweet
I started to watch Deep Space Nine
Oh you mean the crewmember who was definitely here the whole time
Every self-insert Star Trek fanfic is incorrect bc according to the laws of the show if ur a never-before-seen crewman on an away mission, u have like 10 breaths left to live until you’re toast
PIC 3x3: 20 seconds of Worf giving Raffi a sobriety talk is more impactful on me than the many billions of $$ the US has spent on D.A.R.E., ever
PIC 2:1
“I look older because i allowed it” is such a flex, Guinan
Watching Picard for the first time and in true star trek spirit, they have Brent Spiner playing 8,000 characters
The composition soundtrack for season 1 is so good but UGHHHHHH THE MOODY SYNTHS 😮💨🤌 so good
Saddle up: my live thoughts of another great Star Trek episode.
“We’ll Always Have Paris” - S1x24
Star Trek: The Next Generation
Idc how corny Tasha Yar’s final speech is in Star Trek TNG: Skin of Evil (s1: e23)
It makes me cry every time, and it makes all of this episode go up on my Hall of Fame.
(Also the music is fantastic)
When its the time of week to restock
Unless your favorite TV Franchise includes a main character fist fighting Dwayne the Rock Johnson, it’s not your fave sorry I do NOT make the rules!!!!
OH MY GOD HE IS FIGHTING SEVEN OF NINE
OH SHI THAT’S DWAYNE THE ROCK IN STAR TREK: VOYAGER, WHAT’S HE HERE FOR?
Fun fact: In hollywood, if you wanna use US military or the DoD, your script gets reviewed by the US military first to ensure it’s “accurate” in its portrayal.
And if they tell you to change the script— if you want the equipment/facilities, you’d better comply.
Guarantee Cameron got scrubbed.
what the fuck is the egg prime directive? lot of you neglecting to meet your numbers on recruiting new trans folk is what im hearing
Voyager message in a bottle OMG
Don’t mistake me: I adore the campiness of Voyager and the artistic license someone did in making it look stupid bc i KNOW they have good graphics lol
