Wow, they still haven't fixed it?! Impressive stuff.

I guess... Presumably its fairly hard to completely switch off all the junk you don't want and return to the earlier state but not impossible. I'm sure there are people who can do this more successfully than others. Not sure how you would go about teaching yourself to do it.
There's a certain innocence in inexperience that I think we have a tendency to look back at fondly.
I reckon it's fairly common to look back at earlier art made when you were younger and less experienced and think it's somehow inherently 'better'. My pet theory is it feels that way because that art was probably more spontaneous and 'natural' or at least it feels like it was.
I've got functioning doors now

Cool. IMO the lights look too 'normal' and don't fit so well with the rest of the highly stylised visuals. Obviously I dunno how final they are or anything but it was the thing that niggled at my brain when watching.
This is looking awesome. You open to feedback (don't want to give it unsolicited)?
Thanks @neillcameron.bsky.social!
A child and a father donut are talking. Child: Hey, Dad! How come some people have lots and other people have nothing? Father: Oh, well, that's a big question Emmy. In a world of limited resources, there will always be some form of competition for those resources. Those born with an advantage in this competition will accrue more resources, and then use those resources to give themselves further advantages... And so on and on, until over time those inequalities become more extreme and entrenched. Child: Huh. We should burn everything down.
Unexpected and excellent strip in my kid's comic this week...
A metroidvania without a traditional jump?! That's Stratum, my first person megastructure #metroidvania. More texturing progress. #screenshotsaturday #gamedev

And now only silence remains... Cool game - clunky in the best possible way!
I love the UI! Will give it a play tomorrow.
I feel this sentiment deeply.
AI boosters and fence-sitters think viscerally negative reactions to AI are "irrational" but mass deployment of LLMs is actively destroying everything I care about (the open internet, the planet, creative industries, art, my ability to buy RAM). Total rejection is the most logical response.
Oh no, but your 3D stuff looks so good! I completely understand though, with 3D the path from concept to fun is so much longer than 2D.
Still (slowly) working on my first person #metroidvania Stratum. Started doing some texturing today and previously added some stencil light effects for explosions among other things. #gamedev #indiedev

The world we're building for Mouseward is densely interconnected, seamlessly loaded, and full of fun details and retro lighting. Here's a bit of a flythrough with a debug camera to show off the complexity of space you can explore in the game!
