I did let my mother teach me alteration techniques and I saved a ton of money in the days when suits, etc were required for work.

My grandmother was a dressmaker and my mother made patterns from images in magazines for things she liked. They tried so hard to get me to make clothes too but I just wasn't interested. Quilting and decorative sewing is my jam starting when I was in college and needed curtains.

A friend recently moved into assisted living. She really likes when the dog and I visit. He really loves that other residents have started offering him treats when they see him. We're going there on Friday in our Valentine's sweaters. He's going to be prancing!

NJ here. I have bee driving for many years and have never pumped my own gas. In the old days they washed your windshield while the gas was pumping, and offered to check the oil.
