I tried to connect with a FTIR operator at Peace Arch, who would presumably know what drug checks in the area would have looked like lately, but no luck reaching them today.
Sundar-Maccagno said it's especially difficult for people to be certain of what's in their drugs in the Surrey-White Rock area.
“The availability of drug checking services is a lot more limited in Surrey,” they said.
Rosa Sundar-Maccagno @ Surrey Union of Drug Users (SUDU) said some members noticed the drug supply over the past two weeks cut with more non-opioids/sedatives. Fraser Health couldn't say exactly what's in the supply, says its alert was prompted by more poisonings.

In case you missed our extortion town hall in Surrey last night: here’s a bit of post-coverage from me on the thoughts community members have on the multi-police agency response to ongoing violence.

The CBC is hosting a townhall on Extortion tonight at the Surrey Arts Centre, 6:30. I’ll be there fielding audience Qs for our live broadcast. Good op for u to hear from policymakers, police (and ask Qs too) about this troubling wave of violence in the Lower Mainland.
