Not to brag, but according to this exciting Email I got from LinkedIn: “18 people looked at your profile Yesterday You’re getting noticed Your profile is looking great Your work and accomplishments are being recognized…” With 18 views, I’ve clearly made it. :)

Does anyone know if it’s possible to make VoiceOver on the Mac not come through as system audio? I have an app that records system audio and I’d love to find a way for it to do that but not record VoiceOver speech. I do want it to record all other sound though. Any thoughts or ideas?
Anyone out there using Tavala? I’m curious about their oven, the accessibility of the app, the quality of the food…
Oh my gosh, according to an Email I just received, my LinkedIn posts got 9 impressions last week. I want to thank the 9 bots that took the time to crawl my posts, likely while looking for something far more interesting.
Wishing a very happy π day to all who celebrate. Even if you don’t celebrate, I wish you a good day just the same. :)
For the first time since November 14, I have actually put my laundry away. It’s going to be strange to not feel like I’m living out of laundry baskets. Eventually I might even unpack overnight stuff from my backpack, but I just can’t do that yet.
It’s such gorgeous weather here and I’m getting to leave the house for the first time in a month for something other than a medical appointment. It’s just a hair cut, but I don’t think I could be more grateful for the short break.
I’m excited to be taking part in “Git Up and Running with GitHub,” a course to show how to work with GitHub and Visual Studio more accessibly. I like the idea of possibly helping to make open source more accessible. It’d be g... stevesawczyn.micro.blog/2026/03/07/im-excited-to...
That's incredibly useful. I'd like to experiment and see if they might make finding my hotel room easier. Very glad there is often braille signage, but tracking an AirTag might be more eefficient, not to mention more helpful for folks who don't o Braille.
I love that AI is able to give me a description of what's going on through my Ring cameras, but when I see a description like, "A dark car is driving on the water", I realize that while I may get a description, it definitely might not be accurate.
Welcome to Golden Valley and the Regency Hospital

An update on Jenn
These past few weeks -- it's hard to believe that it actually has been weeks -- have been filled with many highs and many lows. On the plus side, I'm happy to report that Jenn has regained consciousness. While she has had a Tracheostomy to help get her off the ventilator, she is…
Particularly grateful this Thanksgiving
I'm writing this on the first Thanksgiving in 29 years that I am not celebrating with my wife, Jenn. For those who are unaware, Jenn experienced what medical folks refer to as a "cardiac event" on 11/14 and has not yet regained consciousness. My intention…

Some lovely live piano music to bring a smile, take 2
I've spent way too much time at the hospital recently as my wife has been dealing with cardiac issues. One neat thing about this particular hospital though, is that they have someone who plays live piano music. Whether I'm nervous, scared, or…

A quick comparison and test of recording with both the Zoom H1E and Roland CS-10EM
Recently, I discovered the Roland CS-10EM, a binaural headset that can be used with a variety of recorders. I thought I'd give this a try because my previous binaural solution was reliant on equipment that is no…

The 2025 Apple Event and my attempt to live blog from an accessibility perspective
In just a few minutes, the 2025 live Apple Event will begin. Will we see new iPhones? A new watch? other new Apple things? Generally, this is where all the shiny new Apple stuff is announced -- at least most of it.…
