Munich is not only a beautiful city but also a place where MRI research thrives! 🧲
I am pleased to announce that our lab will host this year's Deutsche Sektion ISMRM (DACH-ISMRM) Labtour "Hyper and Hops" organized by Dr. Martin Grashei.
All of this would not have been possible without the continuous support of my family for which I am deeply grateful. I am glad my children could join me for the official appointment and share this special moment with me.
🧲 I am grateful to my mentors, teachers and supervisors who have supported and guided me over many years. I learned so much from you!
🏐 First of all, I want to thank my entire team and former team members for joining me in my scientific passion and curiosity to explore the unexplored. It was and is a pleasure to work with you!
🤝 I am happy to have so many supportive and like-minded colleagues and collaborators at the Department of Nuclear Medicine, at TUM and all around the globe both in industry and academia. Together with you I look forward to create the future of imaging!
I am very glad to announce that I have been appointed as Associate Professor (W3) for Biomedical Magnetic Resonance at @tum.de , TUM Klinikum Rechts der Isar.
🧲 We are on our way to the the @ISMRM taking place May 10th-15th in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Take the chance and engage with our team presenting our most recent research results according to our translational goal - from molecules to mice to men!
We are looking forward to meet you!
Aloha 🌺
We are looking forward to the 20th European Molecular Imaging Meeting in Bilbao organised by the European Society for Molecular Imaging. If you are interested in recent research from our group – come by and meet our presenters > Nadine Setzer, Florian Gaksch, Luca Nagel, Geoffrey Topping!

Munich researchers have contributed to developing weight loss medications. However, patients also lose muscle mass. As an alternative, muscle hypertrophy stimulation also causes fat loss. Which strategy is better? Register for our symposium here and RT: collab.dvb.bayern/pages/viewpa...
Thanks all for joining the launch of the @dfg.de funded FOR5795 HyperMet. Effects of skeletal muscle hypertrophy and atrophy on metabolic health! We started with resistance training and had talks to introduce HyperMet and advanced metabolic research.
As 2024 comes to an end I want to thank you on behalf of the entire team for your collaboration, support and enthusiasm. We are looking forward to continue advancing the field of magnetic resonance together and to seeing you in 2025.
Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!
🎓 🎉 Congratulations, Martin Grashei to an excellent PhD defense!
Martin took us away in his presentation on "Novel hyperpolarized 13C MRI techniques for quantification of pH and metabolism in vivo.“
On my way to the Symposium „Red Hot Fluorine (19F) MRI and Small Animal MRI (SAMS)“ in Göttingen. Looking forward to hear the about novel developments in molecular MRI. 🧲 Thank you Prof. Susann Boretius and Deutsches Primatenzentrum for hosting this!
🏆 Congratulations to Dr. Athanasia Kaika, our most recent PhD, for winning the award for the best presentation at the 2nd Panhellenic Congress of Medical Physics which took place on October 4-6 in Athens.
