That's my point kev, the fact that he can, with seeming impunity, issue decrees
because his party controls both houses and the supreme Court. Some form of check has to be put in place where we are not relying on members of his party who owe fealty to him. An evenly divided supreme Court perhaps.

The fact that Trump was possible suggests to me that someone equally bad might also be possible. I think USA has to take a long hard look at the power it grants it's president before it's former allies can trust it again.
