In 1979 I went to an early Specials gig and I got hit on the head when they were throwing demo cassettes into the crowd. I’ve still got the ska to prove it.

Think I'm fairly well informed in terms of the horrors of British empire but this book still had many Fucking hell! moments. Balanced and nuanced throughout, not hectoring, not written to shame. Highly recommended, interesting and informative reading.
