It’s been a beautiful fall in Montreal. Wishing the best to all patients, and to all those who take care of them in any capacity.
To my chagrin, many young doctors are never even exposed to my discipline (pathology), which can be a consuming joy. Walking into the house of Penfield, I know that this joy transcends specialty. We are magnificent when we choose to be.
Tucking into a weekend frozen. I'm starting my 15th year as faculty. I can say this without reservation and with my full chest: While we are dealing with many meaningful and significant challenges, it has never been more interesting, exciting, and deeply fulfilling to practice medicine.

This work will provide genetic information for HUNDREDS of patients with rare neurologic diseases who have donated material to the Neuro's Open Biobank. This work will have a concrete impact on the lives of our patient partners.
This project will leverage banked DNA from over 2K patient partners, who have consented to genetic interrogation and data-sharing. Over 400 patients with rare neurologic disease will benefit from this remarkable scientific exploration. Bravo team!
