Seeing folks still remember FCN positively absolutely gladens my heart.
FCN really was a magical time. I was there for the first year when we wrote our own panel programming, had the chlorine pool that stank up the whole place, and everyone mostly did their own thing. The next year was the start of the Novi Sheraton run, which became like home to me.
Wait we met thanks to Taste of Chaos 2007 right?? So I've known you even before FCN was a thing! Because you were still part of the other crowd I was running with at the time. That whole Jrock scene. 🤣

I think it was just the nature of me being in college at the time and running with a different crowd back then. But these days, the southeast Michigan furry community is my home and family. 🥰 That truly was a special event for all of us.

But today, in the year 2026, I know just about everyone who attended that con and the founders and former staff are my best and closest friends. For whatever reason it took us a few more years to ACTUALLY "Connect" as it were. (Pun totally intended)

The funny thing about that fateful FCN 2008 for me was how I really didnt know anyone and stuck to myself pretty much the entire con, scribbling at my table in the makeshift alley. I only met maybe a couple people.

Around this time 16 years ago, I went to my first furry convention, Furry Connection North. Over the years I've met a bunch of cool people and made a ton of friends along the way. I wouldn't change a thing, here's to many more years!
I woke up to a cockroach on my boob once at an old apartment.

To be fair, there are usually some snow flurries still in April, but they are usually early in the month and would be done by now.
Also we had a real heavy winter this year and I am just tired of feeling cold.
