Stick Season:
So I thought that if I piled somethin' good on all my bad / That I could cancel out the darkness I inherited from dad
Stick Season:
And I'll dream each night of some version of you / That I might not have, but I did not lose
The Great Divide:
Rage, in small ways / Did you hope that I would know / that you’d fade to some place / I wasn’t brave enough to go?
The Great Divide:
I hope you threw a brick right into that stained glass / I hope you're with someone who isn't scared to ask
The Great Divide:
I'm finally aware of how shitty and unfair / It was to stare ahead like everything was fine / You know I think about you all the time / And my deep misunderstanding of your life / And how bad it must have been for you back then / And how hard it was to keep it all inside
Dial Drunk:
Am I honest still? Am I half the man I used to be? / I doubt it, forget about it, whatever / And the dial tone is all I have
You’re Gonna Go Far:
We’ve overdue for a revival / We spent so long just getting by / That’s the thing about survival / Who the hell, who the hell likes living just to die?
She Calls Me Back:
Does it bite at your edges? / Do you lie awake restless? / Why am I so obsessive? / Hanging on to every sentence / This town’s the same as you left it / Your page was blank but I read it / I still dial ———-/
It’s kinda infuriating that nearly every Noah Kahan song has at least one section of lyrics that makes me wanna rip my hair out or scream or run into the forest or stare at a wall for a couple hours and dissociate or act out or explode like a star going supernova.
Also me, playing Pragmata:
If you aren’t watching Dimension 20: City Council of Darkness you absolutely should be. And if you don’t want to commit to a full season, at least watch the first episode because it’s some of the most unhinged shit they’ve ever done and so insanely funny.
write something terrible, is my advice. like genuinely, just write something god awful. commit to it. you can then spend time making the terrible thing better having already done the hard part of actually writing anything at all.
square enix the time is now for a standalone blitzball game
As someone who worked in CIPP and got to visit the tunneling sites, they would if a politician went down there with a camera. It’s cool as hell looking. And for some reason people on social love the install videos.
Snow Patrol’s Set the Fire to the Third Bar gaining popularity in the US while my ex-partner was deployed, rarely contactable, and Don’t Ask Don’t Tell was still in place really felt like a hate crime against me specifically.
Tried to make Bala Baiana today and let me tell you, fucked up caramel tastes REALLY REALLY bad.
Yep!
The joy of introducing people to my wife* and them INSTANTLY falling as in love with her as I am is a very special and unique delight.
*not my literal wife, just my platonic soulmate
Actually one of the greatest games ever made. RIP United Front Games. 🫡

—that feeling of your body no longer belonging to you.
It is, to me, such a uniquely female experience. It’s hard to picture a way to make an audience at large resonate with it, that doesn’t make it feel… cheapened or… unserious?
The idea of a “mom game” has had me nebulously thinking about what it would mean for an Alien game to capture the actual themes of the movie. How do you translate it into something playable while also conveying the way motherhood & personhood are shown as diametrically opposed. How do you capture—
Reading The Terror and feeling myself get pissed the fuck off instead of scared or tense because it’s so clearly a disaster caused by the vanity of men. Oooo baby it’s got me heated thinking about how it’s such a parallel situation to the Titanic in that regard. Hundreds dead over ego.
This is from A Drop of Corruption, the sequel to The Tainted Cup by Robert Jackson Bennett. Both absolute banger murder mysteries set in a highly advanced fantasy world. Loved it so much I bought the second one immediately after the first, and finished both in a week or two on audiobook.
“For if we are not instruments in service to one another, than we are nothing at all.” Okay fuckin author’s note at the end of a fantasy murder mystery, you didn’t need to make me cry at 10pm on a Sunday.
Omg @joeynoelle.bsky.social congrats on finally winning a party game at KF!!! 🥳 Your “thank you Greg and Nick for not being here” victory speech was incredible lol
Just finished the Blacktongue Thief sequel, The Daughters’ War which is also excellent, so this is on my list for soon. Just taking a lil Christopher Buehlman break.
