I know these bills won't go anywhere thanks to the GOP senators, but I think the public record matters, if nothing else than for historians looking back to see not everyone just rolled over for Trump.

Favorite AI-generated podcast transcript error so far, especially since it has never fumbled on this word before:
Atternees
Too late to add that as an anecdote in the recording, but it's definitely going in the accompanying blog post, since it's all about AI and the practice of law ๐ #lawsky
It was encouraging to hear colleagues want to know how to use it properly and have a healthy wariness regarding privilege issues. It was alarming how many attorneys at ABA Tech Show had been using tools without considering privilege issues. I forget this stuff intimidates most attorneys.
I'm excited about next week's podcast episode. I've already had some colleagues ask me to help train them on proper AI use for lawyers. Maybe I have a side hustle in the making. I love this stuff. Eons ago I trained people on litigation support software and how to use Westlaw in its digital infancy
I'm finishing up a 20-minute video and blog post about attorney use of AI and how way too many posts about the recent Heppner decision are misinterpreting the ruling. I felt a need to add in the beginning why I'm qualified to speak on the subjects. I wonder if I were a man if I'd have felt that. ๐ค
@budzinski.house.gov are you making a firm stand that Donald Trump should be removed from office via 25th Amendment or immediate impeachment and conviction? That's what most of your constituents want after he threats this morning. Please do ASAP if not already done. I'm from 61821 and you can DM me
Here's my full podcast episode on AI and IP. Available at Spellbinding IP on your favorite podcast platform. Or right here.

World in grave danger. I remain excited about my post topic this week: AI and IP. IP lawyer/tech nerd/programmer heaven. Dissociate for a while with me. Lesser horrors. Here's the teaser.

I'm proud to have my signature on the excellent amicus brief from solo and small firms by the marvelous Carolyn Elefant. I got to meet her and thank her for her work in person last week after "knowing" her online for a while.
I am ordering more of Riki Rachtman's delicious Cathouse Coffee. Do yourself a favor and try it. Yes, the host of Headbanger's Ball has turned me into a coffee snob. That's ok. He's super nice. Go see his spoken word show if you can, too. Inspirational and funny.
Reading lawyers who clearly haven't read the Heppner decision fight on reddit about what it said wasn't a good idea for improving my mood. However, I'm working on 2 posts/videos about AI, 1 about AI & IP for small businesses & 1 about AI & the legal profession for lawyers, so good fodder. #lawsky
I like Claude, but having to anonymize is annoying. Enterprise Claude doesn't make sense for my solo firm.
I want a practice management platform that is designed for transactional lawyers, handles leads and matters without switching from one system to another, has siloed AI that's actually good, and handles my social media posting. Please design asap, thanks! #abatechshow #lawsky

Haven't even had them 4 full months yet but I will be sad to be away from them for two nights.
This is clearly the kind of wise and eloquent jurisprudence every young lawyer aspires to.
Just SUPER thrilled the @americanbar.org released my email address to all the Tech Show vendors a good week before the conference so my inbox is flooded with unsolicited "stop by our booth" emails. Also, dear vendors, that is how to guarantee I will not be stopping by your booth.
Always a pleasure when a call with attorneys for other involved parties (I hate calling them opposing counsel when they really aren't) is surprisingly pleasant and nonadversarial. Civility and collegiality in our profession are underrated.

Two cavalier king charles spaniels, one white and brown, and one brown/ruby, playing with toys on a gray fluffy pet bed.
My assistants enjoying some nice murderous play in my office.
Legal colleagues, tips on how Claude CoWork or Code can make my transactional practice more efficient?
I already have it helping me manage my patent and trademark docket.
I'm fairly adept at regular Claude and use a paid version.
New topic this week. Business succession, and of course how IP is involved. Here's the main video. Longer video on all podcast platforms at Spellbinding IP, and accompanying blog post on my website.

Reworded second comment also not published. Wtf? Here it is:
There's nothing in there any more critical of the current DOJ than in many other comments that have posted. Are comments not processed in the order received, maybe?
I find it interesting that my comment on the proposed rule that would allow the DOJ to circumvent state bar discipline procedures hasn't been published when many others submitted after mine have been. Submitted again, dammit.
No profanity or threats or nuthin' in my comment. Just typos haha.
I just left my comment & proudly attached my name to it.
U.S. lawyers please read this proposed rule & comment. Fed govโt shouldn't control State bars

Damn skippy on both points. This is a big deal and good news on a bad news day.
Substance is actually discussed in front of him in his play war room and if any of the maps and docs have accurate details or are just to enable them all to pretend he's really involved. Otherwise it's gross negligence of the highest order. 2/2
Man, I think about the lengths I go to to protect my clients' confidential and privileged information and there's POSOTUS & his gang of evil idiots playing war in a "war room" made of CURTAINS and taking photos of sensitive docs for their social media posts. Makes me wonder if anything of real ๐งต1/2
Channeling my anger into a mildly educational blog post full of snark.

Not that the Emoluments Clause isn't already lying bleeding to death in the middle of the street, along with the rest of the Constitution.
