Dear fencers, you don't thrust with a dao in the same way that you do with a rapier, epee, or foil. They are two completely different types of swords and do not behave similarly.

That said, yes, Alex Karp's "thrust" with the dao was terrible.

But I've trained with one and can say that confidently

And, somehow, being taken over by a satire news org will result in InfoWars putting out less fake news...

And yet they tried to get ICE and CBP vehicles declared national security infrastructure with the same flight restrictions as military ships (can't fly within a 3000 foot radius)

Stop and think about it. Just for a sec.

In the same manifesto, Palantir's owners argued that we need a national military draft, that soft power is over, and that we were too hard on Germany and Japan after World War II. I don't think that company should be allowed to exist anymore.

OpenAI's CEO Sam Altman reminding everyone that the damage AI use does to your brain is a feature, not a bug: "We see a future where intelligence is a utility like electricity or water and people buy it from us on a meter".

My photos do not look like they were made with AI. They looked like someone who actually knows how to frame a shot.

If I hear "It looks like AI made it" about one of my photos one more time, I'm going to scream.

It's even worse because they actually think it's a /compliment/

“Look me up and you’ll see that I voluntarily joined ICE in 2025” is a great message to Minneapolis voters lol

i simply find it a little hard to believe that shortly after every website implemented ai code and fired a bunch of engineers they all started breaking constantly every single day but its not related to the ai code or the skeleton crew

OpenAI: We’re burning money like the Joker. A miracle needs to happen for us to turn a profit

Microsoft: Please please use our AI systems, we’re teetering on the edge here

Anthropic: I wonder what’ll kill us first: lawsuits, regulations or model collapse

Media and universities: AI is here to stay

Riddle me this - in the current social climate where people are literally burning down warehouses, shooting at CEOs' doors, throwing Molotov cocktails, etc...

Would *you* be doing a mass layoff?

When life gives you lemons....

Punch it in the face and demand to know where the sugar is. I mean, how the hell are you supposed to make lemonade with only lemons? And you need water too. And ice and cups. What the hell, life? Do I have to think of everything?

Tax the billionaires. Heavily

That's the kind option. And judging by the recent arson at warehouses, etc, it may be too late for it...

I asked my partner (sec engineer) about Mythos and they said "sounds like a typical automated security tool"

As we've seen, AI is a marketing term that gets applied to existing automation.

Anthropic is only sharing Mythos results' with companies they said have vulnerabilities. Why?

I love how every comment on any story is "of all the things that didn't happen, that didn't happen the most"

You know, some people actually do stuff...

Also, the comment of "I guess the AI decided that goth girls smoke clove cigarettes"

As someone who's been goth since the 90s, yes. Yes they did

Article is paywalled and I can't be arsed to jump it, but from the headline I'm guessing that employers have chosen their scapegoat to blame for the fact this tech isn't delivering and can't deliver

Sounds like 11,000 cops need to not be cops anymore and their own body cam footage and reports against them need to be looked at much more closely for potential prosecution

And Lincoln, who performed the largest mass execution in the history of the country (of Natives, of course)
