Yep.

Same way people call alt right weirdos "trolls", "imps" or "goblins".

It's not a racial slur, it's just mocking them for their horrible way of thinking. They fit the description only too well.

It's kinda funny how these fuckers always keep framing immigration, especially from the developing world, as "ethnic cleansing". I think they do not know what it means. Or they're just that scared of those dang icky immigrants.

Probably both, actually.

Oh man do I have an awkward birthdate. The 20th of April.

Certainly doesn't help that a lot of their worldviews are informed by orientalist cliches and warped headlines, not by actual, good faith attempts at learning the cultures in question.

Yeah, for whatever strange reason, a lot of American interest in foreign cultures, practices etc. feels very shallow and "fake" in a cringey way.

Probably because many of them do not approach them as products of complicated people, but rather as grand, unchanging monoliths.

Also, if you are seriously looking at a culture as a whole, it's worth questioning which "bad parts" are genuinely parts of the culture, and which are a product of circumstance. The slums in Africa and the Indian subcontinent certainly aren't *inherent* to the cultures of those places!

Lol, very true. Especially when they remain fascists, as I had the misfortune of experiencing myself. ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

The substance expressed by the opinion matters a lot!

Tbh it's kinda telling how many people who have shitty takes on humanity try to defend themselves by claiming they were just "expressing opinions", completely forgetting how opinions Actually Work.

Opinions aren't just about voicing a subjective take, they also tell others a lot about you...

It doesn't help that they appeal to what are innate weaknesses of the human psyche - our tendency to split ourselves into "tribes" on arbitrary grounds, and to view unfamiliar people with suspicion.

It is much easier to convince people to be bad then to be good. ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

Ugh, always hate "historians" who indulge in mindless prejudice like that, because they act like their historical knowledge/work gives them a veneer of "authority".

Nevermind that a lot of them basically rip off existing scholarship and often post outdated perspectives on their "subjects".

All fair points. Thanks for providing some valuable insight!

Okay, then what about in Eastern Europe, specifically? And perhaps also America, if you know anything about the political situation in that country?

Hmm. Out of curiosity, what do you think personally caused the rise of the far right in the world? Was it the 2008 financial crisis, 9/11, or something else?

I think people genuinely forget just how many white weirdos used to extol Arabians as one of the "good" races for entirely orientalist and often selfish reasons.

Here's perhaps a rather controversial take on a beloved classic: Final Fantasy 6 is a game about *losers*, and that's what makes it appealing. Post: revierofriver.blogspot.com/2026/04/fina...

Half the world is of Central Asian descent, when you think about it. Funny, that!

I wouldn't be opposed to killing literally every far right influencer. Disgusting scumbags, the whole lot of them.

Lol.

They're just afraid of needing to hold onto a chain sometimes, I guess.

Weird yet true facts - for most of recorded history, both Britain and Japan were, in fact, backwaters of their regions. It was mostly industrialization, conquest, and later American favoritism that made them shoot into prominence...for a while.

Yep!

There *are* soldiers who are forced into the army out of circumstance, and are no less victims of hatred and violence than anyone else, but by and large, the army is a garbage indoctrinating organization by *design*. It is an institution we keep out of necessity, not out of want.

South America on the whole seems to have turned out better than Africa or the Indian subcontinent. The Spanish Empire weren't exactly nice chaps, but they sure seemed to know how to run their territories better than the British and French empires.

Some even say that had Obama not been black, the Establishment wouldn't feel the need to "course correct" so hard by seating Trump of all people.
