That was the old CAST simulator which had a bit too much power for its own good. We have a much fancier Spirent these day.

I mean, I don’t need one… but that’s never usually stopped buying anything before.

I was travelling back to UK from conf in Germany many year ago. I was getting short of luggage space, so I used my poster tube to pack the bottle of beer I’d been gifted, my aerosol shaving gel and my travel alarm, cushioned with a few pairs of socks in between…

It’s only a bad idea when at 1am you decide to give it a go

Hopefully you can resurrect it!

Haha! Sounds like it WAS a Metabo, it's now just crumbled up diecast/sintered metal 😆

Yikes! Assuming chuck is not threaded so you need to get the screw out at bottom of inside the chuck?

Ahhh.. Have played with one on its eval board - was about £1500 plus I had to sign a bunch of stuff. Almost as much paperwork as when I got some HMC8415s ;)

Hello, Computer? Transparent what?

RFbeam make some nice modules, TI and Infineon make some usable board level things that aren’t crazy expensive

It’s becoming crazy, I don’t want to be giving my DoB and inside leg measurement to be able to see some cool people building oscillators and fixing old test equipment.

Yeah, hope so… the other place is getting crazy.

I sometimes wish Boltzmann's constant was a bit smaller so I had less noise to deal with ;) As an engineer I find you need to keep up with physics/materials in order to understand how to exploit them in the quest to make a better thing/widget.

Trying to tell you that you don't need the common mode choke and those filter caps, just delete them?

Hehe! I guess I could stop using magnetic tape? :)

Probably bad for ozone layer, it's also probably carcinogenic. Not sure what's in this stuff or what I'll do when I run out.
