the most valuable lesson i've learned in writing sci fi is never miss the opportunity to give someone a fuckass haircut.

As I am beginning to draft Book 2 of my debut duology, it's fun to keep in mind that my FMC goes through so much in Book 1 that my editor asked me to cut part of my third act because (quote) it was "bordering on gratuitous suffering"

And honestly, things aren't getting much better for her in Book 2
