I feel like we repeatedly struggle in the handoff between the swimmers (traditionally a small percentage of the community) and the non-swimmers.

Maybe Gen Y will have a totally different distribution?

Most people are happy to wade out into the ocean up to their knees. As it gets deeper and rougher we get less comfortable. We need a sure footing.

There are others who realise that change is the only constant … they know they need to swim, and keep swimming.

It wasn’t the methodology that mattered, it was the ability to change to fit the circumstances. As soon as it picked up momentum, we had the project management class come in and learn “Agile”, mostly by reducing it to a set rules that could now be treated as religion. Doing Agile <> being agile.

My 2 bob:
The pattern repeats because the distribution of archetypes doesn’t change. The folks who invented agile thought hard about the issues they were facing and created a new way of working that made sense to them and cut out a lot of the waste.

On a trip to London and lucky enough to duck up to East Lothian for a few days and get in rounds at North Berwick and Gullane 1. Wonderful golf and weather was very kind for early March!

Being predominately auto-didactic, I always find these sessions fill in the interstices, and create relationships between islands of knowledge. The learning never stops!

I just got around to watching the first session (sorry been stretched!) and it was great. As always, highly informative with lots of useful stuff and a few gold nuggets!
