Trump's disapproval rating is already very close to Bush's low of 65.5 in 2008

They’re making up a pretend group of non-voters to get mad at.

I’ve seen very little genocide denial on this site, especially after like 2024, but I don’t follow a broad cross section of people here.

How big do you think the “far left” in this country is?

Liberal favorability opinion towards Israel has not been below 50% in the past 25 years:

They don’t support the war but their messaging on the war, at least initially, was “we support the goal of regime change but this didn’t go through the proper procedural channels“ which was less than inspiring or reassuring.

Agreed

Liberal politicians? Yes. The average Liberal voter? Not so much. Look at Democratic voter opinion polling on Israel/Gaza, it’s like a 90/10 issue whereas for the politicians they have elected, it’s 10/90 the other way around

Imagine telling someone in 2019 that JD Vance would one day be sent to negotiate a ceasefire with Iran

My comment was less “she didn’t have any generation defining music” and more “how is this what passed for generation defining music, it isn’t all that good“

It’s not that surprising, these guys would rather risk being replaced with liberals than step down from their position of power

This doesn’t explain why I have listened to every album Taylor Swift has ever released at least two times.

Speaking more objectively, I think her music, for as successful as it was at the time, got stuck in the 80s. Her body of work seems less relevant to modern audiences than that of many other artists of the same time frame. Who under the age of 40 is citing her as one of their favorite artists?

4 days ago 0 0 1 0

My opinion is that her music was not that great, regardless of whether it was popular or not. I’m fully aware of her titanic level of success.

Half of these songs are skippable.

There’s two really good songs in there and 2-3 pretty good songs and that really is all she has.

Agreed. Madonna was a little before my time so I never did a deep dive on her music until recently and…there’s isn’t much there to write home about. A good singer, a great performer, and a cultural icon, no doubt, but where’s the generation-defining pop music?

Maybe that was the strategy! Lull me into a false sense of confident and accomplishment.

Stockfish actually only calculates one forced checkmate here (within 16 moves), and it took it a while to notice it: g4! Very cool move.
