A while back, I painted this after burying a wild rabbit in my backyard after it had passed. It's a sad piece, but it sold!
So I'm getting it ready to ship out today. Sometimes it the paintings you don't expect that end up going out into the world.

One thing I really, really love making are necklaces for mermaids. I'm still pretty tired from yesterday, but I did manage to knock this cute thing out. I'll plunk it in the shop soon, but for now I need a quick lie down...
A tiny, princely frawg now has his crown; now time to fancy up his hoop...
I was just digging around in my stash of knits and handspun yarns, and I just had to get a couple of glamour shots of a favorite shawl of mine. Knitting is so calming, and I love it so much...
Behold, a very small froggie! Soon he's getting a tiny crown and a little fancy ruff. But various friends also suggested a cowboy frog riding a little snail, and I can't unsee that possibility. And also, we made up a fake folksy saying: "Don't be overdressing your frog, now!"
I have my newest painting in my shop now!

Today I'm working on a new painting, just inking in the details. The sweet moths are especially fun that way...
Thank you! Silk floss can be so wonderfully bright!
I've finished up this lovely belladonna potion at last! It was an excuse to fiddle around with gold thread and silk floss, and I like it a lot!
This lovely thing is on its way out to someone who needed to celebrate a win. I think we all could use a gold star for something these days. Especially the "no biting" part.
(To be clear, I'm incredibly alarmed and frightened by the news about Iran. It was just nice to dissociate a while with my watercolors and some tea.)
What a way to start a weekend, huh? I figured we could all use a little break with a pot of tea, and maybe a small friend. I'll put up a link in the shop later today, but I think I could use a quick nap first...
Since I'm feeling more normal now, I thought I'd knock out some very (very) gentle chores and put the shading down on a painting. You know that feeling when you sink into a hot bath and the steam is so nice? I was thinking of exactly that, but was too sick to do much with it until today...
It's frustrating, especially now when artists like myself struggle for sales, to have somebody be so cheerful about planning to copy my work. I didn't chew her out, but I did reply with,"or you could buy one of mine if you'd like, here's the link to my shop". But I'm salty, dear friends. So salty.
Also also, there's magical underpinnings to the pieces I make that I'm positive this person would be deeply uncomfortable with. Trying to make one of the pieces without that underpinning would rob them of their meaning and purposes.
It comes off as the people cruising the outdoor craft shows, sneering, "Oh, I could make that for so much less money!"
And no, you really can't. The labor alone would put you in the red, Madame. Trust me here.
I mean, I don't want to be discouraging, strange commenter, but could you please not copy my art? It takes about 3 separate disciplines to make even a small Guardian Eye piece, and my prices are quite reasonable if you'd like one for yourself.
I was just putting up photos of my new embroidery piece in a few FB art sites, and the first comment I get?
"Beautiful and inspiring. I think I'll make one too!"

My online shop will be part of the Friday strike.
But one thing I'm planning to offer tomorrow is a free Patreon post with a PDF of "Etoile du Nord" for you to print out at home. It's been such a hard road for us all lately, and you all deserve something good.
