So the subtext is that Torontonians are driving to High Park and then parking on local streets, leaving area residents aggrieved about not having exclusive access to *their* spots?

They’d rather make worse the great park they live near than share the public curb space on their own streets

8. Too many engage in what I call “The Populist Playbook,” where lies and disinformation are deliberately spread and then used as an excuse to delay or derail badly-needed urban change in cynical ways. Chances are you’ve seen this where you live. It’s dishonest manipulation. bsky.app/profile/bren...

Having recently been reading @rutgerbregman.com, I’d argue there’s no time like the present to more effectively tax corporations and the wealthy!

Feeling sad to hit midlife and learn that everything I ever believed about political principles or ethics or collaboration or values were all just fictions. It’s about power and money, nothing else, and it always was.

Why is GenZ depressed? It’s not the phones, they were raised in this bleakness.

Honestly, feels like a play against Bradford, a feasible target to plan for, and something easy to talk about that doesn’t involve the province as directly

Cell service on the TTC has improved again! St. George to Bathurst now has full service, and even partial service (from my experience) as far as Christie! Plus Dufferin to Lansdowne!
Nice to finally see Rogers get the maintenance time!

A planner once explained to me that they couldn't just allow low-rise apartments in Neighbourhoods citywide because the lot fabric in North York is different from downtown so you need different rules. But, like, why is it bad if the lot fabric in North York gradually changes over the next 20 years?

Instead of addressing his government's gross underfunding and negligence, Premier Ford is cutting more teachers — and yet, budgeting $41 million to put police into public schools.

This government does not care about children.

Matt Elliott: Why the Waterfront East LRT is a chance for Toronto to show Metrolinx the better way to build a transit project City hall, the TTC and Waterfront Toronto need to make sure they mitigate some of the factors that have made Canada’s recent infrastructure projects some of the most expensive in the world.

per @graphicmatt.com, Metrolinx has "more than 120 vice-presidents — making an average salary of about $250,000 a year"

Canadian experience with vehicle headlights and glare at night Transport Canada wants to learn how headlight glare affects road users and what vehicle or lighting features may influence how people experience it at night.

Transport Canada is seeking feedback on experience of road users with headlight glare. Worth putting your comments in if you have strong feelings about being blinded at night.

Municipalities are forced to increase your property taxes to deliver services that are the Ford government's responsibility, but that they aren't actually providing.

Even though you've already paid your provincial taxes for those services.

So, you're paying twice for services that are worse.

Thinkin' back to the Rob Ford years and how Toronto's city council eventually got it together and took away most of his mayoral powers, along with most of his actual office at city hall, reducing him to a mostly harmless though still intensely embarrassing figurehead.
